Word Perfect conversion problem

I receive a Word Perfect file (*.wpd) and when I attempt to open it in Word
2003, I get an error window that says "file may be corrupt, do you want to
continue?" I click YES and only a portion of file opens.
I've sent the file back to person I got it from & they can open it in WP
with no problem.
Any thing I can do on my end? I'm opening it as a Word Perfect 6x file per
the Help instructions.
