I am not sure I understand what result you want. To get a file which is
ASCII/ANSI (well, more or less):
Run the add new printer wizard. Elect to install a Local printer... but
de-select the auto-detect. From the scrollable list, choose Generic
from the left and Generic/text only from the right. Choose File
for connection. Follow on-screen prompts and OK out.
In use, you will be prompted for a file name. This can be a
fully-qualifies path. e.g
"c:\temp\my test file.txt". Use quotes. Alternately, make use of the
dialogue in the usual way.
Alas, this is not a "batch" solution-one at a time. I suppose a macro
could be written to do it from within Word or a VB script for more
general use. Consider posting the question to one of the visual basic
groups if you have not already done so.
Let us know.
