If you select the table and convert it to text (Table | Convert | Table
to Text), does the line go away? If not, it could be a border applied
to one or more characters in the table, which you can remove by
highlighting the characters and clicking on Format | Borders and Shading
| Borders. If the line does go away, highlight the text and convert it
back into a table by clicking on Table | Convert | Text to Table.
