G'Day Argh(!),
Look at http://www.openoffice.org/, and you will see
a free download available of OpenOffice.org v1.1.1 - a full
featured office suite comprising:
Writer - Word Processor
Calc - Spread***
Impress - Presentation and
Draw - Drawing.
These products have a surprising degree of compatibility
with Office, and do seem to be stable.
You will be able to open and edit basic Word files in Writer,
although with the more advanced features the products are
very different..
To e-mail them, I suggest you use Outlook Express - This has
NOTHING to do with Office, but is part of the Internet Explorer
Web Browser.
It's a pity you will not buy Office - I always use it!
