Microsoft Word error: blank screen on new documents and within Out

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi, please help.

I suddenly get an error message while using Microsoft Outlook - both when I
open a new message or reply/fwd to emails - saying "Microsoft Word is set as
your email editor. However Word is unavailable, uninstalled or not in the
same version as Outlook. The Outlook email editor will be used instead". The
error message window, comes up with a solution, which is the following:

"This error message may appear if:
You have Word configured as your e-mail editor and Word is no longer present
on the computer.
The form is corrupt.
Word has faulted.
You are running a version of Word that does not support e-mail editing.
This can also occur if Microsoft Office Outlook was started in Safe mode
(achieved by pressing and holding the CTRL key while starting Outlook).
To work around this problem:
Start Outlook in normal mode.
-Or-
Configure Outlook to use the Outlook editor as the e-mail editor.
On the Outlook Tools menu, click Options.
On the Mail Format tab, set Use Microsoft Office Word to edit e-mail
messages to unchecked and click OK.
-Or-
Reset Word (reboot may be needed or Detect and Repair should be run).
-Or-
Reinstall Word.
-Or-
Upgrade Word.
More information about this error message online."

However, since this problem started occurring only recently, I am not sure
whether this is a virus or whether I should follow the instructions above.

Also just note that this message occurs suddenly, even after hours having
used both applications (word and outlook) running without any problem. Once
this message appears, all word documents - already open or that I open - turn
blank.

Not sure it's relevant mentioning that I looked for a solution online and I
found something related to this issue on electronic signatures. I tried to
switch all electric signatures in Outlook off. One thing I noticed is that -
if I enable my electronic signatures in Outlook, when replying/forwarding an
email or opening 'new message' I don't get the same error message, but I get
the following one: "Your security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls
on this page. As a result the page might not display correctly."

Anyone can help please since I can not view any word document or use outlook
properly because of this?
Thank you very much!
.
