Templates on line are fine for me. I temporarily disable you firewall to eliminate that.

Mary,
Thanks for answering. I think I know what you mean; however, it appears to
be set up correctly as both are working on their own. All my other
non-Office 2007 Home and Student programs work fine accessing the internet.
There is something that is keeping Office Word from accessing the internet
and I'm wondering if there is some setting in Office. The only other
possibility that I know of is my firewall; however, no firewall notice pops
up alerting me of blocking Office from attempting to access the internet.
I'm going to access my dialup ISP and try again to see if Word is defaulting
to dialup...Nope, that didn't work either.
One thing I did is clicked on one of the two links that come up under the
original error (Unable to Connect to MS ...): "Troubleshoot Your Internet
Connection" and "Word Help" actually accesses Microsoft Offce Online and
displays three causes PLUS several comments left there by other users
including mine. So, Word Help can access it but Word/New/Template links can
not.
So now my question is can anybody else access the Word/Templates link to MS
Office Online?
At this point I am inclined to say there is a bug here. I know I can get
online and download the templates, but it is a matter of convenience--oh
well.
