WORD "NOT RESPONDING"

Someone please help me! I am using Windows Vista Home Premium, Office 2003
and on a network. At various times while using Word, it will freeze up and
say (Not Responding) and I have to force quit the application. This happens
if I try to open more than one Word file, or if I just have only one open and
try to print, or pretty much anytime I'm using Word for more than 5 minutes.
One techy from Dell support told me that I may need to uninstall Office and
re-install, but somehow, i don't think that will work. Has anyone had this
problem with any success on resolving it? Please HELP!
