Hi mcarpeneto,
Interesting. Did the File=>Web Page Preview choice work for that file? If so you can then save from your browser, then close Word,
restart and reopen that HTML file in Word.

I made the deletions that you recommended, but I was still not able to save
a particular .doc file as a Web page. On the other hand, there has been a
new development.
I was able to create a Web page using a different .doc file, so I think the
problem might just be with the one file I was trying to convert. I have
taken that one errant file and copied it to a blank page without copying the
final paragraph mark. That effort did not fix the problem, but since I am
relieved to know that the Web Page problem is not systemic and appears to be
just with one file, I am willing to call the problem a fluke and not take up
anymore of your time.
Thank you very much for your help with this problem. >>
