Re: Word 2007 buggy and crashes.

Third party add-ins for Word: these are most often found in the Word Startup folder, but may be COM add-ins. You need to install a local printer driver. It doesn't matter if you don't have the printer connected but Word MUST see a local printer driver set as Windows default.

When running in Safe Mode (using the /a switch) Word is working in its default install mode bypassing everything: printer driver, macros, templates, add-ins, customisation - all outside influences. So if it works OK in safe mode, Word itself is not the problem.

Following up on my previous post. Your answer to another user with the same
problem was, "The most likely causes of Word 2007 problems are printer
driver, normal.dotx and third party add-ins."

I have deleted normal.dotx.
I have changed the default printer to pdf.

"third party add-ins" to Word 2007 ?, Office 2007 ?, IE ?
Please be specific.

Thanks,
Laurence

Almost certainly you have either an incompatible or corrupt printer driver
or an incompatible legacy add-in. See

your problem.
