Re: Error message when closing Word 2007

I think that is a red herring. You must save the attached document to the local hard drive before opening it. This is one of the user's principal problems.

Is this problem only ever for email attachments? If it doesn't do it at any other time, that is the solution.

If it does it when opening other documents and closing Word but it is OK in Safe Mode, it suggests an incompatible third party add-in as the most likely cause.

Word closes down properly when in Safe Mode. However, I don't think the user
receives the error when closing a Word document that is not attached to an
e-mail.

Something else that I have discovered, I just used Remote Desktop to connect
to his PC. When I opened a Word document that was attached to an e-mail in
Outlook and then closed the document, I did not receive the error. I
disconnected and had the user do the same thing and it gave him the error.

Would Remote Desktop be disabling something that would cause Word to show
the error when closing?

So when you start in Safe Mode, how does Word close down then?
