I have an upgrade install of Word 2003 and don't have Standard, Casual,
etc., just the choice you describe for Word 2007 (and that's the way it's
always been in that version for me). IIRC, it was that way in Word 2002 as
well.

Standard/Casual and a few other options were available in some earliercan,
versions of Word, and if you upgraded along a certain path, those options
even appeared as recently as in Word 2003 (but not if you did a clean
install of Word 2003). They are not present in Word 2007 at all. Instead,
Word 2007 offers Grammar Only and Grammar & Style, as major "sets". You
of course, click Settings and pick and choose as desired.this.

There is no tools menu (that I can find) in Word 2007. However, I did go
into
the spell check options/grammar and I don't see where I can change from
standard to casual. I couldn't find anything in the help menu about
is
