Re: Word2007 memory usage

It seems that the document must have a corruption somewhere. Try taking a copy of the document and then in either Word 2007 or Word 2003, use the Open and Repair option. In both versions, Open and Repair is accessed in the File, Open dialog by clicking on the down arrow connected to the OPEN button.

I have a document, actually a book, around 500 pages, with lots of tables and
pictures. The file size is 15Mbs. When opening the document in Word 2003 (to
a different PC or before installing Office 2007 to my PC), it uses 150Mbs of
RAM and 150Mbs of virtual memory and I can edit it flawlessly. When opening
the same document in Word 2007 (either in compatibility mode, or after saving
it as .docx), it uses more than 1Gb of RAM. After few edits memory usage
peaks at 1,8Gbs (95% of system's RAM) and when Word autosaves the program
crashes (out of memory, disk full (!?)). Opening two different versions of
the same document at the same time is out of the question. Why does Word2007
have to use ALL of the system's RAM? I would be grateful if anyone can offer
a solution to this problem.

PS
Both the system and Office 2007 have all the updates
