RE: I can't select text using word 2007.

Francis,

The true culprit of this problem does indeed seemed to be caused by
incompatible add-ins...

You can either try running Word in Safe mode by creating a shortcut and
adding "/a" at the end of the Target (outside of the quotes), or by right
clicking on "Winword.exe" in your Office12 folder (inside Microsoft Office in
the Program Files folder) and selecting "Run as Administrator". Then you can
deactivate the add-ins by going to the add-ins tab in the options menu. This
is assuming that your administrator profile for Word hasn't been corrupted.
If it has (i.e., you still can't highlight text, etc.), then you might trying
creating a new temporary user and then starting Word and seeing if you can
get to the add-ins menu that way.

Hope this helps

I am logged as admin but it does not work. How can we Run As Administrator?

Thanks for your time.

Ok, Found a fix...I posted this in my thread on this topic but I will repost
it here:

Ok...found a solution, this really isn't so much a fix but a work-around
untill MS addresses the issue. My assumption that this problem is cuased by
a security features appears to have been correct. If you run Word with
administrator privileges (by either logging in as an Admin or by selecting
"Run As Administrator"), everything works as normal...you can highlight text,
use the scroll bar and select the different options tabs in the options menu.
So, the next step is to figure out why a user's access level restricts the
mouse abilites in Word. Does anyone know what the best way is to contact MS
and tell them about this?

Hope this helps.

Wow... another problem here...

If I click on FILE, NEW document, the old screen (Office 2003) appears
instead of the new one ????

I just uninstalled Word 2007 and reinstalled 2003... I need to work ;))((((

So... If you ever discover the answer, pls let me know...

All the best,

Francis

Also wanted to add that this problem also prevents you from scrolling the
page with the mouse...even by using the scroll bars. If you hover over the
scroll bar, it turns colors like you would expect, but when you click on it,
nothing happens. So it seems that the problem is that Word isn't registering
the Mouse clicks with relation to the document. I know that may sound
strange, but that is the closest explanation I can think of...
