I have tried all the links and fixes you provided, but they do not address my
specific problem. Thanks for all the links.
In shorthand: When I open Word and click Tools, Labels & Envelopes, I get
the Envelope\Label window. When I click the address book (to insert an
address from one of my Outlook Contacts folders, Word crashes. I then
receive the option to report this error to Microsoft. I have clicked OK to
report it at least 20 times, but have never found a solution.
I have not experienced the problem until about 2 months ago, although I have
the same Windows XP Pro and Office XP installation that I have had since Sept
2003. All Windows and Office updates have been installed (long ago) through
SP 3.
Any other ideas? Help Appreciated.

problem, it is just that the recency of the problem for you corresponds with
what has been happening to others.
If you aren't comfortable with editing the Windows registry yourself, then
go to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll down to Item
No. 383 "Hewlett-Packard's Share-to-Web software - Fix". Download and run
the script to automatically modify your registry as described in KB918165.
You may need to temporarily disable your antivirus program in order to run
the script. I guess I would recommend trying this and seeing if it makes
your problem go away (probably after a restart).
A revised version of the update is supposed to be released today, Tuesday,
April 25, to fix these problems. It allows the old non-conforming software
(that they know about) to run.
Generally, using Word as an email editor confers few advantages and has a
lot of disadvantages.

I am using MS Office XP and running Windows XP Pro. Word crashes when I try
to insert an address or use the envelopes and lables feature for inserting
addresses. I found the post by Mamamax6. but I removed the Stamps.com
program over two years ago and had no problems with word until recently.
Ergo, stamps.com is not the problem. I tried creating a new mail profile,
thinkiing my old one was corrupt, but it did not solve the problem.
Any other ideas?
