Re: 'PALMAPP.DOT' caused serious error when opened....

If you look in tools > templates and add-ins at the palmapp.dot filename, it
will show where the file is saved. Drag the dialog box wider to read the
full path - probably the Office startup folder.

Start by removing palmapp.dot from the Word startup folder. Word
should then run normally.

Reintroduce the dot file. If you still get the error it seems likely
that either palmapp.dot is corrupt (remove it and reinstall the
software) or it is in conflict with one of Windows/Word's recent
updates, in which case you'll need an update. It might be a plan to
see if there is an update now.
