Saving a modified "standard" toolbar

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

,I have added and removed a few buttons from the standard toolbar in Word
2003. Specifically, I added the "Save As" button and removed the "Read" and
"e-mail" buttons. However, when I exit Word and re-open the program the
standard toolbar is reset to the default state and my changes have
disappeared. Making the same changes in Excel and Powerpoint were successful.
