At the risk of appearing completly stupid, I do not understand what you meant
by "For example, if I mark text here as Spanish or
English, I get the readability stats. If I mark text as Albanian, however, I
don't."

i.e.-"mark"?? The default language is set as English Canadian ..

I have used Word 97 and previous iterations for many years. Have never
encountered this problem previously which akes me think that it's time for an
uninstalll/reinstall. DRat!
