You SHOULD be able to use either File, Open or File, Save dialogs, find the
saved file, right-click on it and select Send To, 3―" floppy drive. It
worked OK for me in Office XP. However, I cannot test if this function is
still good in W2003 as I don't have a floppy. I use a USB Flash Key for
transporting data.

However, I doubt that copying to a CD-R like this is going to work because
of the delay by Windows preparing the file for packet writing to CD-R. It
isn't safe, even if it did work though.

: Hi Rob,
:
: No, I'm not in Explorer. I'm in Word. But for some reason Explorer shows
up
: in the error message.
:
: I'll try the Googling and the drag and drop to A thing you mention and see
: if either helps.
:
: I've used Word for years on several different computers and have NEVER
come
: across this problem. FWIW, I *can* "Send to" the desktop (create a
shortcut),
: and then I can go to the desktop shortcut and save THAT to a floppy and
: CD-RW. I just can't do it within Word itself, which seems so strange. And
is
: also very irritating. :)
:
: Will report back tomorrow.
