If you are running Windows XP, the folder in which Normal.dot is stored is a
Hidden folder; you must explicitly choose to display (and search for) hidden
files and folders. Instructions for rebuilding the Registry Data key are
given in http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissngMenusEtc.htm, to which
there is a link in
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm. Have you worked
through all the steps in that article? There are links to many other related
articles.
