Hi!
I have a Compaq Presario 1244 laptop with Windows 98. Also
on it is Office 97 Professional. Since I bought the
laptop used, this software was already on it -- though I
would like to get rid of it and use my own software.
However, when I attempt to uninstall the Office97 Pro, I
get a dialog box that asks me to insert the Office 97 Pro
disk 1 into the CD drive....even though I don't have the
disks (rememberthe software came with the computer when I
bought it used). I own Office 97 Small Business and would
like to use that...but I can't uninstall the 97 Pro.
The only reason (besides wanting to be legit with
software) to uninstall and reinstall office is because
when I work with Word and attempt any task such as Page
Setup or Print Preview or Save As, I get an error that
tells me "Insuffient memory to complete talk. Please close
other windows and retry." The only option is to click
OK. Incidentally, the only way I can save a file in Word
is to save it as a Rescued File...which gets really
annoying!
Please help!
Sheila
