Paul, we have the ethernet port off the board (as it had earlier got pulled
off by mistake) and our only means of transport is USB for transferring the
image onto the board.

I wouldn't use the USB download channel for anything. Use the page I.
pointed out last time and debug over Ethernet.

Paul,
We have a target board and the lab pc is connected to our desktop pc
through
ethernet.
The device is a WinCE 5.0 device and we are downloading the image through
USB on the lab pc.
Thanks and Regards,
Rama

Yes, it's possible. We know nothing about the device, however, so it's a
little optimistic to expect us to know if you're connected to the lab PC
via
Ethernet, WiFi, USB, serial, Bluetooth or smoke signals.
Yes, eVC allows you to debug on a device.
You might start with this, but, again, what you have and what you're
doing
is not properly detailed by your message:

Hello All,
Setup is the following: - I have a desktop computer (windows xp) with
PB
for
WinCE 5.0 installed and built an OS design. I also have an application
developed for WINCE target (i.mx31 freescale board). The lab pc has PB
6.0
and Visual Studio 2005 and Active Sync installed. Is it possible for
me
to
debug with Visual Studio 2005 on the lab pc by connecting to the target
WinCE
device? If so, can anyone please provide me the required information?
In case there are any links available, it will be quite helpful.
Lab PC: 1) I created and built an application in VS 2005 for the SDK
which
I
had installed on the lab pc.
2) I loaded the OS (image) by first connecting to the device using
AttachDevice (opening the nk.bin built on my pc)
3) Now how do I debug my application by connecting to the target
device?
What is the concept behind this?
Note: - I tried to install Microsoft Embedded VC++ 4.0 on the lab
machine,
but installation is failing. In case I am able to install VC++ 4.0
alone
on
another machine (if I get one), and I install the SDK created with the
PB
5.0
(on my pc) on the lab machine, can I debug? If so what are the
settings
that
I should make while creating the SDK?
Thanks and regards,
Rama
