It's not required: you can use ROM-only file system, for example if you want
to mount an installable file system as the root directory, and use RAM or
hive-based registry

hi all,
Is hive-base registry required when implementing Rom-only filesystem? it
seems the hive-base is not nessary, but i'm not so sure there will be
problems.
