PB 6.0 is a snap-in for Studio '05 only. It will not work with Studio
'08. Studio '05 and '08 can coexist.

What about the original question regarding Platform Builder support
within
Visual Studio 2008? I have recently purchased Visual Studio 2008, and
cannot
find any information about adding in the Platform Builder for this
version of
VS. All documentation relates to VS 2005.

Platform Builder for Windows CE 6.0 require you to purchase Visual

However, Platform Builder for Windows CE 5.0 comes like a standalone
packet.
VS is included with Platform Builder for CE 6.0, you don't need to
purchase
it seperately.
I think if you develop Windows CE Applications, not OS and do not want
to
ship
Windows CE Image, then it is enough to have Visual Studio 2005 and SDK
for
your Windows CE system.
That is correct, no need to have PB for just developing applications.

Hi,
The price of development tools $995USD listed on
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/embedded/eval/wince/default.mspx, is
it
Platform Builder for WinCE 6.0, right? If my development requires
both on
WinCE 5.0 and 6.0, should I purchase 2 different version set of
Platform
Builder? (I suppose the platform builder is not backward compatible,
right? )
Also, when will the support of platform builder WinCE 5.0 and 6.0 for
Visual
Studio 2008 available? Our company currently is making purchase for
Visual
Studio, so we need to know whether we should go for VS 2005 or 2008.
