It appears that the registry is set up on the assumption that this port will
be connected to an IR LED/receiver, yes. Remember that the driver is from
your *board* support package. Once the board is built, the use of that port
is decided by how it's hooked up. If you build some other board yourself
and you want to use that UART for something different, there's nothing to
stop you; you simply have to make sure that you clone and modify the BSP in
such a way that *your* board is the one being supported correctly for what
it does.

1. Can i use the same uart for other modules(eg:gps) or is it
dedicated for irda only?
2. i found Some SerEnableIR(HwEnableIR) in the driver source code.Is
it for irda only?
