Hi tdacosta,
I want to use RNDIS on my Wince5.0 device for remote command line input. I
would like to know how your workaround to enable the ICS component too. It
has been sometimes when you post this thread. Is everything working fine for
you now? Do you mind to share.
Thanks!
Rgds,

Hello tdacosta,
I am facing the similar issue and not able to configure the IP Address
properly for the logical interface seen on the Host PC when connected with
RNDIS based Activesync connection.
Can you please let me know how did you enable the ICS component. Is the
ICS
component really present in 6.0 or is it presented as a different item in
the
catalog tree ?
Thanks in advance,

I did manage to get around the problem of not having DTPT by using the
ICS
DHCP Allocator on the RNDISFN1 interface. The local interface and the
mirrored interface on the PC now have the proper IP addresses.
ActiveSync on
the PC fires up on physical connection of the USB cable--but it fails to
connect to the CE device.
The next problem is with REPLLOG, as it doesn't support the
"AppRunAfterRndisFnDetected" command line parameter. That would indicate
that it will not work with RNDIS as I don't see any other way of telling
it
to use the RNDIS interface instead of a RAS connection.
This is getting quite frustrating, as I was counting on RNDIS ActiveSync
support for this project. Using ActiveSync with USB serial emulation
doesn't
cut it for my application for several reasons.

It seems that MSFT dose exclude this part of component from the
CELLCORE
tree in CE release. The cellcore.bib and reg dose contain the relative
settings but as you said all of the binaries (LIB) are missed.
Maybe MSFT only want this feature to be enabled on Windows Mobile but
not
yet for CE.

I am trying to implement an ActiveSync connection on CE 6.0 using an
RNDIS
USB function driver. According to the documention in CE 6.0, DTPT
modules
take care of setting the IP addresses over the RNDIS link.
Unfortunately,
it
looks like the DTPT modules are not present as an option that can be
included
in the OS build.
I searched through the CE 6.0 files and found mention of the DTPT
modules
in
the CELLCORE area, but they are commented out. Looking through the
CELLCORE
files, none of the source or object files for dtpt components are in
there.
Am I missing something here? Is it not possible to use RNDIS
connections
to
ActiveSync with CE Embedded 6.0?
