I checked project_SetEnv.bat and found two SYSGEN related to .NET CF.
set SYSGEN_DOTNETV2=1
set SYSGEN_DOTNETV2_SUPPORT=1
Are they already? Or I need to change something?
Thanks,
James

Verify that the QFE was installed right. Look at <winceroot>\others forcan
DOTNETV2. Make sure that there is a nice-looking set of files for your
target processor in there, as well as a bunch of managed code files. Make
sure that there are suitable files in <winceroot>\public\netcfv2, also.
If those files are empty, your SYSGEN variables are not set right. You
look at the masters for them (before they are filtered based on yourSYSGEN
variables), in <winceroot>\public\netcfv2\oak\files.included

In the release folder, I can see netcfv2.bib and netcfv2.reg files, but
they
are empty. And there is no cgacutil.exe in the release folder.
So could anyone tell me what I did wrong?
Thanks,
James

Thanks a lot for the help.
I couldn't find \Windows\cgacutil.exe which means the CF is not
builtin
the OS. But how could that happen if I added CF 2.0 to the OS and I cansee
.NET Compacr Framework 2.0 included in the featureview?isn't.
Please clarify.

Run \Windows\cgacutil.exe on the device. If it's not there, the CF
If it is, it will tell you what version of the CF you have installed.

After I installed .NET CF 2.0 SP1 on my development machine, I
thenewa
theapplication selecting VC#->SmartDevice->Windows CE 5. It still gave
me
becausesame error message.
Maybe I am wrong, but I still think that size info means something
my OS image size became smaller after I removed .NET CF 1.0 from
forOS
design and added .NET CF 2.0.
How can I verify that my OS includes all the necessary components
in.NET
DOTCF 2.0?
Thanks,

I installed all the QFEs for WinCE 4.2 and I can see .NET CF 2.0
clickthe
Catalog. I also found the size info form the Catalog. Right
targeton
size(est.).NET
Compact Framework 2.0 and choose Properties. It shows the
in
somewhereMB.
That number actually means absolutely nothing. It's just a number
in a text file that someone set to the value you are seeing.
I acutally built an application selecting Pocket PC 2003 as
2005*...canonedevice.
But I got error message saying "Cannot find "DeviceApplication"
(or
of
its components).". I use VS 2005 to build the application and it
run
on
PC, just showing an Form.
You got that message *when*?
You still have to install .NET CF 2.0SP1 *for Visual Studio
