Me thinks that the USB HID drivers are missing from your image, that is they are not in your bib file. Does kitl pull some DLLs over at boot time? (It will indicate something loading the dll in the debug output)

Verify that you have the correct SYSGEN variables/catalog items then resysgen your image.

At boot time CE is asking you to input a name for the USB keyboard driver. That's rather difficult without a keyboard, so it sits there until you remove it. I am guessing here.
