No, it (at least 4.2), runs flawlessly, at least with respect to finishing,
on my XP machines (I've run it on two different ones and the everyday build
machine runs XP). You're sure it's hung and not just performing some long
process? Disk type on which the build is being run? Run the usual
diagnostics to be sure that the disk isn't going south? Hard disk
controller tests OK? Try a different PC?

Recently we installed PB 4.0 on a desktop PC running Windows XP
Professional
and have had nothing but problems. Approximately one in three build
attempts
ends with PB hanging before completion. We have uninstalled/reinstalled
PB
4.0 on one PC and also installed it on a second XP PC but the problem
ultimately reoccurs.
Previously, we had PB 4.0 installed on a Windows 2000 professional desktop
and experienced problems very rarely. Unfortunately, our IT department is
upgrading all PCs to XP and we must have CE 4.0 development capability for
legacy support.
I would be interested in learning if other developers have had similar
experiences with this configuration and if anyone has a fix.
