Need to save registry settings on a custom emulator built using Platform Builder 4.2

Hi

I build a custom emulator image using platform builder version 4.2.
The changes that I make to the registry do not get saved after a soft
reset. I know that the registry can be saved. The emulator that we
got from our BSP supplier has an option of saving the emulator state
before shutting down the emulator. How do I modify the emulator image
that I built so that the registry persists over soft resets.
