That would certainly be appreciated! My address is ptobey <at> instrument
<dot> com. We use OrCad, or you can PDF it. You didn't have any problems
with bus contention with that resolution?
Thanks!

Hi Paul,
you can use the ADV7125
http://www.analog.com/en/prod/0,,ADV7125,00.html
I tested the resolution of 1024x768 with the ADV7125 connected directly to
thePXA-270 and works perfect.
I can send you the schematic if you want.
Best regards

Thanks, Dean. Maybe we can talk them out of the source, at least.
That would future proof it a bit.
If anyone has some part numbers, design suggestions, etc. for
connecting LCD outputs from PXA to VGA, let me know.
I've got a board that drives a VGA monitor from a PXA270 and it works
quite well, but I'm not an hardware designer so I can't help you much
there (if you need more information, contact me va e-mail and I'll
give you the contact information of the people that build the board).
From a software point of view, the VGA refresh rate, even at 640x480
could be a problem for the PXA if you need to drive slow external
peripherals (ex: PCMCIA boards or ethernet adapters on local bus) or
other devices that uses the external BUS to access RAM (quick capture
interface). If you don't configure the timings of the MSC* registers
carefully you may experience some flickering on the display.
I never tried to reach 800x600 or higher resolutions but you may
experience some problems since the LCD controller of the PXA needs to
access the RAM quite often and quickly, since it has a small FIFO.
