Re: VGA

The SM501 driver works in CE5 (as well as it does in CE4.2, anyway),
although you may be on your own for CE6. I think I might have been involved
in using a DAC ages ago, but don't remember the details. No reason it
shouldn't work though.

Hi,

I'm in the middle of a design of a new board. We want VGA output (don't
care about LCD, on this one). The number of VGA controllers out there
that aren't tied to a bus is shrinking (we're XScale based). There's the
old standby Epson. The RAM used with it is going end-of-life, however.
There's the Silicon Motion SM501, but it doesn't appear to have drivers
for CE5, even, let along long-term commitment to CE6. Other thoughts,
suggestions, or recommendations? Anyone build their own DAC scheme to
take the LCD outputs from the PXA270 and drive a VGA from the result?
