I have now gotten into the same problem as I have seen others having recently, but none of the suggested solutions
have helped me. The problem is that the Sysgen phase failes with the following error:

From the C:\WINCE420\Build.log:
...
res2res -c %COREDLL_RES% -fo C:\WINCE420\PUBLIC\minIDA\WINCE420\Cer2\cesysgen\oak\target\x86\debug\0409\coredll.res
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'res2res' : return code '0xc0000005'
Stop.

Sometimes when I build I get this error instead:

CVTRES : fatal error CVT1108: cannot open C:\DOCUME~1\rk\LOCALS~1\Temp\lnkFB8.tmp for writing
LINK : fatal error LNK1123: failure during conversion to COFF: file invalid or corrupt
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'link' : return code '0x463'
Stop.
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'C:\WINCE420\sdk\bin\i386\nmake.exe' : return code '0x2'
Stop.

I have installed and been using PB CE 5.0 evaluation edition for a while, but then I had to rebuild one of the CE 4.2
projects. Before rebuilding the projects I added in the latest QFE's (March '06 and April '06).

I have now tried the following:
1) Deleted the content of the "C:\Documents and Settings\rk\Local Settings\Temp" folder - no success
2) System restore back to a date before the installation of the last two QFE's - no success
3) Running Cefilter.exe the from the command prompt in the Build Release Directory - no success
4) I also get the error:
BUILD: c:\wince420\public\common\build.dat(8284): corrupt database (File error)
and have tried to delete this "build.dat" file - no success

This problem is really killing me - please help me!
