I don't know exactly how that would be done, but, if I were writing the
whole of the TCP stack, I think that I could send an ARP for the IP address
I was trying to set and see if anyone responded with "Yes, that's my IP
address". If they did, that means that someone already has that address.
If not, there probably isn't.
Unless you can do it with a customized NetUI component, I don't know of any
documented and supported way to capture this message in your own code.

Hello,
I am new to windows ce. I am using windows ce 5.0 device. My
application need to detect any IP address conflict. In my application
there is an option to enter static and DHCP address option.
I am able to see when there is an ip address conflict CE system is
posting one error message. I need to capture this message for my custom
error display method. Same way to disable the Windows CE error message.
Provide me some procedure or reference. I searched in this group before
posting this message. Same questions are posted but no answer is given.
