Here are some things you can try, to find out the source of your slowdown.
- Run Remote Kernel Tracker to verify that there isn't a high-priority thread taking all the CPU time, or some kind of contention problem between threads in the UI
- Run the Monte Carlo Profiler to measure where time is being spent
- Make sure you're not loading all the files out of the release directory over KITL, or having some other kind of KITL slowdown
- Make sure it's not something more fundamental in the OAL, like a bad CPU cache flush implementation

Subject: Slow Explorer in Windows CE 5.0
Hello,
I am facing the same problem like FD in the posting "Windows CE 5.0 eval
edition problem". The effect is that the HPC-Shell explorer.exe draws the
icons on the desktop very slow, opens the Startmenu very slow and opens the
favorites menu very slow.
Is a QFE or a fix available?
Regards Peter
