Sorry 'bout that, I was responding to your 2nd post and had somehow missed
your 1st post - that would have explained about your mac1.

And yes, I follow your steps 1, 2 and 3 to enable file sharing on my system.
The registry is persisted, so I do this only once. I do not need step 4 as my
adapter already seems to be selected.

My registry has the following:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\Smbserver]
"AdapterList"="*"
