I saw similar behavior on Symbol Spectrum24 card before. Symbol has its own
driver suite and user interface called Mobile Companion, to use Symbol user
interface, Zero Config interface need to be disabled for Spectrum24. If both
interfaces are enabled, they appear to work and get ip address, but it loses
connection intermittently and you can barely use the card for anything.
I didn't use Cisco card much but I know Cisco also provides similar driver
suite and user interface which automatically picks an available AP and does
not show a dialog. Since you are getting zero config dialog, one thing I can
think of is to make sure you are not having Cisco user interface at the same
time.
