Another reason for not seeing the external card is that it supports
DMA and your hardware has not connected those signals. But the
internal one .... ?

The latest SanDisk cards implements DMA, which is right according to
the latest spec. If yours do, make sure the hardware connects to those
signals.

With the risk for missinterpreting your problem ...
