Hi all/Dean/Bruce
let me clarify

 aprently the screen doesnt stop scanning, the way it looks , the screen
takes on different black (dark) and white screens dependent on the screen
background (the wallpaper for the application).
This happens when the screen is on (not when it switch to power save mode)
if this white/black screen happens, when the power manager timeout after
defined time it will come back on perfectly (i.e no more death screen).
aparently going into low power mode and then restoring power refreshes the
screen and it appears fine.... so actually this power manager helps recover
from the death screen.

i hope this helps better undertsanding my problem!!!
it has nothin to do with internal modem and XP SP2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks for any help/comments
