ActiveSync over RS232

We are having HW trouble with the USB port on our platform, and I was
wondering if it is possible to run remote tools over ActiveSync and RS232.

If it is, how do we configure the OS image (WinCE 4.2 .net and OMAP 1610
  H2 with surfer board) or AS to use RS232?
