Hi All
This is not really a solution, but perhaps something to think about:

Can you create large files without it causing issues? Perhaps just
write a little app to scribble a >300K file to make sure that this
issue you are seeing indeed has something to do with activesync or
with the file system operations.
Besides flash running a lot slower, not sure where else to look off
the top of my head..

Hope you guys find it -- I'll keep mulling it over.
