How to make the media player fluent?

Hi,
    I am doing some development on a Sandgate platform with pxa255
processor. It uses a 240*320 LCD. In landscape display mode(320*240), the
media player works well. But in portrait display mode(240*320), it works bad
and it's play speed is very slow. Why?
    How can I resolve this problem?
