network flash update question

Hello,

I'm working on a solution for a customer and they are requesting the ability to update the flash over the network. Their previous solution allowed them to update the nk.bin and application by dropping the files on to a network visible file system. Is this the functionality obtained by using Intel's persistent storage manager? or is there another solution?
