MSI Installation failure

Greetings, all:

I have searched the group, but haven't really seen this exact problem
answered anywhere - so forgive me if this is a common problem that has been
solved in another post.

I'm running Windows CE 4.2, and am attempting to install a vendor provided
BSP, and when I attempt to install their MSI file on my Platform builder
system, I get the following error message in a text box:

Installer Error

The .CEC file (xxxx.cec) could not be imported because of the following
reasons:

(And then an OK button with no reason).

I have another platform builder 4.2 system that has absolutely no problem
with the same .MSI files.
If someone has seen this issue, and knows how to correct it, I'd appreciate
it!
