Windows messenger unable to login

I have a winCE 4.2 platform builder. We are trying it on a SA-1110 based board. The windows messenger is not logging in. The message we get is " password incorrect or username does not exist".The clues we have are

1. have installed all the latest QFE patches.
2. Trying a .NET passport login.
3. RTC is not showing up in the options.
4. Able to see a few data aborts in msmsgs.exe when we access the options
5. we have ported the 4.0 BSP to 4.2

Anyone has faced this issue ??? Help or pointers to this issue is very much appreciated.
