This is what I know, my ideas on the matter and things I have tried.
Please correct me where I am wrong
Add info where you can help/expand
Given that the only Wireless explicitly supported by PB is the Cisco PCMCIA
- The Microsoft PCMCIA Wifi Card and a LinkSys one can be used using another setting
CEPC
========
- The Cisco PCI card doesn't work
In a CEPC you need a PCMCIA-PCI card, but only 2 chipsets suported for PCMCIA.
Generally means that you can't use a laptop as a wireless CEPC.
Action: I've order a Cisco PCMCIA wireless card and suitable (chipset) PCMCIA-PCI card
Outcome: Watch this space
XScale Embedded Board
I'm using Intrinsyc Cerf Xscale boards that have a CF socket
(a) So Cisco PCMCIA card won't fit
Action: I have ordered a CF-PCMCIA expander (don't confuse with PCMCIA CF "reducer").
Outcome watch this space
(b) CF WiFi
I have a couple of CF WiFi cards that I use with iPaqs: DLink and Sandisk (one 128Meg of CF RAM)
Using the Pocket PC2003 drivers because PPC 2003 is built from PB 4.2..shouldn't they work??
When I try to install these via activesync to the Cerf board, activesync says the connected device is not suitable for the driver.
Q1 Is there a way of overriding activesync on this issue
Q2 Or is there a way of extracting the driver files from the install.exe and includingthem in PB catalog
Q3 Are there any recommended/known CF wifi cards that work "out of the box" with PB 4.2
Is PB5 any better on WiFi... From what I see wireless is very proprietary.
