About the FIR driver

Deal all:
I am implement the FIR driver , but I have some question need to clearify.
1. The FIR and IR can be used at same time?!
2. The driver for FIR should be intergrated with IR?!, If the answer is
"yes", what the time stamp to switch the mode from IR to FIR when the Device
is support the FIR?!
