You do not need to edit common.reg, you can and should do this in your
project.reg file. Your project.reg file will override the entries in
common.reg. Just copy from common.reg and past to project.reg then modify.
Also consider the files in the release directory to be temporary, if you
edit them your changes will be lost. And worst of all, the changes may not
be lost immediately. Could happen later after you forgot what and why you
did it.
