Bruce Eitman responded to this thread in my AYGShell thread, saying that an
answer to this problem has not been found!
Additional research indicates that there's something called the Credential
Manager, that should come with Authentication services such as NTLM (which I
have in my project). Unlike in 3.0, I can't find the registry entries for
the username and password. I think they are encrypted. I can't find the
checkbox mentioned called "Use Credential Manager", nor the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Security\DisallowSavedNetworkPasswords that was
mentioned in Help.
I don't think I really need all this encryption and protection for the
username and password. Is there any way to remove the encryption services
and get it back so the username and password are straightforward registry
variables like in 3.0? (Yeah, the password HKCU\Comm\Indent\LMPW was a
string of hex bytes, but I could at least reproduce it).
