While seacrhing for a answer to a question I posted here several times I
received this from an AMD Sr. Field Engineer:
UDMA mode functions well on the SCx200 chips when running Linux but
definitely does not function under WinCE, Win2K or WinXP. I'll see if I can
get you some background on the WinCE issue (I'm curious too) but please
don't expect to find a work around. We worked with/on Microsoft for over two
years trying to get them to fix the issue with Win2K/XP preventing proper
UDMA mode operation on GX1-based products and got no where.
Can anyone (especially from MS) comment on this?
Does Windows CE.NET support UDMA/33 on a SBC that is based on the Geode
SC2200? If not, why? If so, how the heck do I get it to work?
The best I can figure is the fastest I can get at the drive is 4.2 MB/sec
with multiword DMA.
Thanks,
Nick.
