I'll try to get to looking at the CE6 code and comparing to CE5 soon...but I
agree. Known-good code is safer than just working from the documentation.

My guess on UPnP would be that the protocol stack from hardware up to
application code is different than for the IP Multicast case. I seem to
remember the bug being in WinSock...
Not sure of that... After a quick look at the code, SSDP appears to use
vanilla sockets.
I don't whether the source code for UPnP/SSDP is available in CE 5 but, if
I were the OP, I would try to reproduce the way MS does create its
multicast socket.
